BlockButler was discovered by Janet deCarteret in 2001. Quite by accident, she discovered a double-sided tacky material that adhered to all kinds of surfaces. After beta-testing the product for months with quilting friends and on various surfaces and conditions, the BlockButler was born.

BlockButller, Inc. is owned and operated by Janet and John deCarteret in Bellevue, Washington. Janet and John are both retired professionals. Janet, a Registered Nurse, retired from teaching at the University of Washington, School of Nursing. John spent 30 plus years in the United States Coast Guard and retired as a Captain. They live in Bellevue, Washington with thier two cats, Bezoar and Ollie.
